H&M’s autumn / winter 2016 runway show was unveiled on one of the many catwalks of Paris fashion week. With mostly straight and sleek hair and simple, nearly-natural makeup the models look so effortlessly beautiful. featuring transgender Andreja Peijic, ’70s model Pat Cleveland, her daughter Anna Cleveland, the iconic plus size model Ashley Graham and other top girls such as Amber Valletta, Jourdan Dunn, Natasha Poly and Taylor Hill.
This collection is about the strength and beauty of women, and how we express that power through our style. I love the contrast of strong tailoring with handicraft touches of Swedish heritage and folklore, says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s creative advisor.
The collection mixes powerful tailoring with Swedish heritage and handicraft, with surprising elements like gaucho hats and cowboy boots adding some drama to it all. The silhouettes are very feminine, the waist is accentuated. There were a lot of classic garments- tailored coats, pinstriped suits, oversized blazers and masculine pantsuits, but also embellished pieces like the chain-embellished velvet gown, beautiful striped blue velvet, as well as folklore-inspired embroidered pieces. The colors of this collection are blue, red, neutral colors like white/grey/pastel pink.
The collection will hit 200 stores worldwide on September 8th.
